Education and Citizen Science

December 27, 2017

2017 was a big year for our education programmes. Over 168 local schoolchildren participated in the Marine Ecology Course. We also hosted two sessions of the Edmund F. and Virginia B. Ball Caribbean Marine Ecology Camp. The Young Environmentalist Leadership Course continued to be a great success; four of the nine students are already interning with companies as a direct result of their YELC training. We continue to increase our partnerships with universities and citizen science groups, making marine education and engagement ever more accessible to people from varying backgrounds. By reaching young students and engaging citizens from all walks of life, we can make a difference in the fate of our oceans.
